It's like a reverse-raffle: Seeing if your local KMart will be the last one standing. I know I always check to see if the lonely Kmart in Loveland is going to remain open or finally close.

On May 31, 2018, Sears Holdings announced that they are shutting down more Kmart and Sears stores across the U.S. to streamline operations.  The ones that are closing fall into the company's 'non-profitable' category, and will be 'non-open' in the upcoming months.

The only Kmart or Sears store in Colorado on the current list to be shut down is in Arvada, on 58th Avenue.

That leaves only TWO Kmarts left in Colorado: One in Pueblo and the one in west Loveland. Wow.

Sears Holdings said that associates at the closing stores will receive severance and will be eligible to apply for job openings at 'area' Kmart and Sears locations. Those 'locations' seem to be harder to find, these days.
