The first libraries of historical record, consisted of clay tablets sometime around 2600 B.C. Libraries have been around for a long time. Not quite that old, but still a vital part of Fort Collins is our own, Old Town Library.
The Old Town Library was dedicated 40 years ago, on October 31st, 1976! To celebrate there will be a day of festivities including a self-guided tour and scavenger hunts for all ages! Check out old photos and library facts. There will indeed be birthday cake and a birthday souvenir will be available while supplies last!
The Old Town Library is part of the Poudre River Public Library District and is located at 201 Peterson Street.
