Over the weekend I was lucky enough to find an estate sale with some tools... Not just any tools either! Most of the tools that I happened to purchase will get great use and they also hold a lot of history as most of them were made before World War II.

I scored a pretty good deal with all of these hand planes! Upon further inspection when I got them home, I found out that two of them are broken however. All good though... I can find some parts online to refurbish them back to their original glory.

One of the planes that I purchased is quite unique and known as a Stanley 45 combination plane. It has numerous uses such as cutting grooves and slots. I will have to do more research into how to use it and what I can use it for, but it seems like a really cool tool!

I was also lucky enough to get a woodworking vise as I have been looking for one to add to my soon to be built workbench in the very near future. From what the seller told me, it is at least 60-70 years old.

New tools are fun to have and all, but there is something special about having tools that have been around for decades. Tools like this are something that my grandfather would have used. They are built to last and they can be rebuilt. The iron is high quality and if they could talk, I am sure that they could tell an amazing story or two.
