If you're a resident of Northern Colorado, you may have thought to yourself once or twice that the population of the region is showing continuous growth. Well you now have the research to back up your thoughts in the latest data released by the United States Census Bureau.

The latest data shows that both Fort Collins and Greeley were two of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the entire country in 2014. The data shows that more than 14,000 residents moved into the region in the recent 12 month span.

The Fort Collins-Loveland metro has grown 2.4 percent year over year, which resulted in a gain of 7,628 people. This places Fort Collins into the number twelve spot in the United States. Greeley takes the number eight spot overall after adding 7,110 residents when comparing year after year. This is an increase of 2.6 percent for the region.

Florida takes the top spots overall with many cities in the state ranking in the top ten. The Villages, which is located Northwest of Orlando, is #1 on the list after increasing their population 5.4 percent. Cape Coral and Naples, FL also make it on the list. When looking at Colorado as a whole, the state grew 1.6 percent year after year with the city of Denver having the third highest growth rate in the city from 2013 to 2014.
