Macro: prescription drugsA lot of people have bottles and boxes of old, unused prescription medications. Once they have passed their expiration, many are not effective or could be unsafe to use. So, local police and he U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have created Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day as a way to help us all safely dispose of our unused, unneeded, and/or expired prescription medications.

Read on to find out where you can drop off the drugs in Fort Collins, Estes Park, Loveland, Wellington, Windsor, Red Feather, Evans and Greeley.

The service is free and anonymous. If you want more info about the event contact Lt. Greg Yeager of the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force at 970-416-2185. (Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes, mercury (thermometers) oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters and illicit drugs will not be accepted due to potential health hazards.)

According to the City of Fort Collins, drop off locations will be held at the following sites from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday April 27th.

The City of Greeley lists these drop off sites that will be open the same hours as the locations above.
