Northern Colorado Christmas Tree Permits

Looking to cut down your own Christmas tree this year?  Make sure you get some cash because permits are just about on sale.  Permits will be on sale for $10 (cash) starting Nov. 30th through the Canyon Lakes Ranger District.  You can buy permits at the cutting area on weekends, but for weekday cutting you will have to visit the Fort Collins Canyon Lakes Ranger District office at 2150 Centre Ave, Building E.

Where to go?

Christmas tree cutting will be Dec. 5th - 13th in a designated cutting area in the Roosevelt National Forest.  Cutting may be done from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Why I love this.

A family tradition of ours on Christmas Eve is to eat a HUGE meal, drink lots of beer, and then cap the evening off with a showing of Christmas Vacation. This year I am finally inspired by the Griswold Family and will go cut down my own tree!  Here's to hoping you don't bring home anything extra in your tree!
