In an attempt to promote local business in downtown Fort Collins, the city had an idea: to allow cars to park in garages in Old Town for free for the first three hours.

As much as I (and I'm sure all of Fort Collins) loved this promotion, its original end date was September 30, and the city is moving forward with that plan.

Starting October 1, normal parking enforcement will resume in Fort Collins, according to a press release from the city. Parking will be free for the first hour, and then be $1 per every additional hour.

There are three total public parking structures, which you can find at the following locations:

  • Firehouse Alley: 160 Chestnut St
  • Old Town: the corner of Remington and Mountain Ave
  • Civic Center: the corner of Mason St and Laporte Ave
