There are now two presumptive positive cases of the coronavirus in Weld County.

According to a Facebook post from Weld County Government, the affected individuals are a male and female who are both in their 40's and live in the county's southwest area.

Neither individual had traveled to a high risk area, and both are in isolation until they are no longer contagious.

The Weld County Health Department is working with the State Health Department to test for any suspected cases.

The department is also making sure to notify anyone who has been in contact with people who are positive for the coronavirus. Once notified, these individuals are closely monitored and supported throughout isolation or quarantine.

The following measures are recommended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Regularly cleaning frequently touched objects
  • Frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Coughing into your elbow and sneezing into tissues
  • Avoid touching your face and contact with people who are sick
