New Stoplights? Maybe…

So there is this new concept design out for stoplights. They look like a hour glass, which is kind of cool. But my problem is, how will these be safer? I have to agree with the person that posted the original article, It seems to me that people would use it to try to beat the light or even to race. I would like to see them but sadly I don't think it will happen because of the familiarity of the ones we have now.
