Sprouts Farmer's Market, a Northern Colorado staple for organic and healthy groceries, has officially opened their brand new distribution facility in Aurora, Colorado. The facility stretches over 135,000 square feet and gives Sprouts the opportunity to continue to provide Northern Colorado with fresh, organic produce.

According to a report from 9News, this new center will service 45 Sprouts stores in Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. The facility was made possible thanks to a partnership "with Penske Logistics as its third-party logistics provider for the distribution center and dedicated transportation fleet which created 70 new full-time jobs in the market."

Aurora is not Sprouts' only distribution center: There are two locations in California, one in Arizona, one in Texas and one in Atlanta. Sprouts also plans to open another distribution center in Florida in the summer of 2021.

These facilities also feature "ripening rooms," which I literally just learned are a thing: They're rooms that sit at a certain temperature in order to ripen green bananas and avocados so that the produce is ready to be eaten right when the consumer is ready for it. Cool!

So, time to head to Sprouts and get some fresh produce: it's been ripened just for you in Aurora, Colorado.
