With 2020 winding down and the excitement of the new year and a fresh start has been on everyone's minds, something else has popped up in our minds and in the news recently and that's been this new strain of Covid that everyone's been talking about from the U.K.

The very first case of the B.1.1.7. strain has already surfaced in the United States in fact...it was found here in the great state of Colorado in Elbert County. While a lot has been said and brought up about this new strain, there are some important facts to keep in mind.

According to a study released by Public Health England, an agency of the nation's Department of Health and Social Care.. while the B.1.1.7. is between 56-70% more transmissible, preliminary results from the study found that there is no significant difference in hospitalizations and there was also no significant difference in the likelihood of reinfection between variant cases.

It's also been noted that while this new strain is more contagious and easier to transmit, it's largely been shown to have the same outcomes as the original novel coronavirus.

The LAST thing we all need to worry about is a new version of this virus that's pretty much turned all of our lives upside down in 2020, but it IS important that we're all aware and still doing things needed to be done to be properly informed to be smart and stay safe so we can get rolling again in 2021.
