Remember when Colorado was colder than the North Pole like, two weeks ago? Yeah, it'll be about 90 degrees warmer than that to start off the month of March.

According to the National Weather Service, the Fort Collins area will be dry and mild much of this week, but there is still a chance of some rain (or snow), too. It is spring in Colorado, after all — so don't get too comfortable.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be mostly sunny with highs ranging from 50 to 60 degrees. Thursday is expected to reach 54 degrees, but with the possibility of rain or snow in the afternoon into the night.

The forecast for a play-outside weekend in Northern Colorado couldn't look better. It may be the time to get in some hiking or biking, because starting Friday, the high will reach around 60 degrees and remain dry and clear through Sunday.

With that, the National Weather Service is also reminding Coloradans about spring weather safety. It was March 13, 2019 that Colorado had one of its largest (and strongest) snowstorms, the Bomb Cyclone, which stranded over 1,000 motorists and required search and rescue assistance from the Colorado National Guard.

According to the National Weather Service, the average 'last snow' date in Colorado is April 28, so remember that we're not out of the woods... yet.
