Anyone heading south of Fort Collins on I-25 this morning might be in for a loooong commute. We're getting reports of multiple accidents on southbound I-25 and backups stretching for miles.

The photo above was posted to Facebook Kirsten Muncy who was pretty much stopped on I-25 near the Valley Dirt Riders track in Berthoud for the better part of the 6am hour.

Not a happy commute for anyone.

CSP Larimer tweeted this at 6:37AM:

@CSP_Larimer Multiple Crashes SB I-25 MP 246 backups several miles. Alternate routes advised.

Just after 6AM this morningthe Denver channel tweeted this:

@DenverChannel CSP on scene of a Semi involved Ax SB I-25 at mm246. This is just north of the Mead exit.

***7AM UPDATE***

The Denver Channel just tweeted that both SB lanes are open again, but traffic is still moving slowly.
