Man Rips Out Own Eyes

How could one person even do this? A man in Italy is in the hospital recovering after he gouged out his own eyes. The 46-year-old man was attending Mass at the church of St. Andrea's when he began ripping out his own eyes in front of the large congregation.   He was calm and aware when emergency officials arrived and he told them that a voice had told him to do it. He was taken to the hospital with his condition being serious but not life threatening. Emergency crews were unable to reattach his eyes.

It is thought that the man had suffered from psychological problems in the past.
