Mall In Colorado Now Charging To Park Up Front
As if the world isn't expensive enough while shopping in Colorado, now one local Mall is charging its loyal customers for the closest spots in the parking lot. Seriously?
Shopping Mall In Colorado Charging To Park Close To The Mall Entrance
In 2024, we're now living in a world where people are finding ways to make just about everything we do more expensive. Eating out, going to shows or sporting events, even just going and parking at the Mall is gonna ding your bank account.
In this tip-happy world where gas pumps and people selling you $70 t-shirts at concerts are asking for a tip, you'd think nothing should surprise us anymore, but this one did... While at a local Colorado Mall earlier this week, I noticed that the parking spots closest to the Mall entrance were blocked off, and when I read the signs as to why, I was blown away.
Denver Premium Outlets Mall Charging To Park Close
I was looking at a pair of shoes at the Denver Premium Outlets, where we frequently shop, and noticed the new parking signage (seen below) for the very first time...
This new upgraded parking option, called "Up Front Plus Parking," will allow you to park in the closest parking spots at the Denver Premium Outlets, just after the handicapped parking spots, for an additional fee.
After scanning the QR code, it was going to charge me $5 to park there for 5 hours. Look, is $5 a lot of money, not really, but that's not the point. Paying to park to go spend money at your establishment seems kind of crazy to me...
Where do we draw the line? Paid parking at malls now, next we'll be seeing these pop up around local grocery stores and restaurants. When does it end? The world is getting wilder and unbelievably more expensive by the day... I'll stick to the free spots and walk.
