I haven't been in City News in a long time, but I'm still very saddened to hear the news that they will be shutting their doors for good in March.

After 40 years of business at the southeast corner of Sixth Street and Cleveland Avenue, City News will shut its doors in March.

The owners also have Woody's Newsstand in Greeley, Book Train in Glenwood Springs, City News in Cheyenne and Cody Newsstand in Cody, Wyoming. And they said that the Loveland store closing  should help keep the other stores open. Good news for those other stores, but for the seven employees in Loveland, the news couldn't be worse.

But thankfully, (unlike some other recent closures) it appears these owners are giving their employees a fair heads-up and say they are doing what they can to help out the people they'll be putting out of work.

City News, you'll be missed.

What was the last you you bought at City News?
