3 Events Light the Nights Beautifully in Loveland
We’re hardly back into standard time, with darkness falling earlier and earlier, and I’m already craving the bright lights of the holidays.
Fort Collins, Colorado, got a bright jumpstart with its Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 1. The nights will stay aglow through Feb. 14.
Loveland joins right after Thanksgiving with three holiday scenes.
Downtown Celebration Kicks Off Downtown Holiday Lights
Loveland’s downtown Festival of Lights marks the holiday season from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.
The annual event celebrates the lighting of Fourth Street with live music, entertainment, a holiday market, carriage rides, Santa and more.
The Festival of Lights grows even larger this year with the addition of Floats on Fourth. The two-block expansion features a stationary parade of floats parked along the street from Washington to Lincoln.
Attendees can “parade” down the middle of the street and enjoy the floats up close.
Marching bands, dancers and entertainers will move through the crowd in an immersive, parade-like fashion.
Centerra Light Show Starts Up After Thanksgiving
The annual Winter Wonderlights spectacular at Centerra lights the night starting Saturday, Nov. 23, at Chapungu Sculpture Park, 5995 Sky Pond Drive.
The immersive light experience includes a live 30-minute music and light show on the 23-foot-tall Christmas tree that runs continuously from 5 to 9 p.m. every night through Jan. 1.
Live event nights with holiday activities, live performances and vendors take place:
Saturday, Nov. 23.
Friday, Dec. 13, including Santa’s Village.
Saturday, Dec. 14, including Santa’s Village.
Santa’s Village includes Santa and his elves on-site to meet with children and get a complimentary photo.
A Christmas Walk in the Woods
From Dec. 13 to 31, the annual Christmas Walk in the Woods opens nightly for friends and families to take a winter walk through a lighted winter wonderland filled with light displays and photo ops, including Santa’s House, an Elf Workshop and a 1968 Christmas truck.
Santa will be there along with musical entertainment on Dec. 14, 21, 22 and 23. The woods are located at 1750 Savage Road, Loveland, Colorado. Entry is $7, and $13 is charged for Santa nights.
