Loveland EMS Disinfecting Ambulances with Ultraviolet Light

One weapon in the fight against COVID-19 is ultraviolet light. But don't start thinking that your tanning bed has been having the same effect.

You've probably seen detective shows where they use UV lights to look for blood stains and such in hotel rooms. Or, you may have gone to a tanning salon, which uses UV light as well. However, these are not the same as what's being used to fight COVID-19.

The Reporter-Herald has the story on how Thompson Valley Medical Services is using cutting-edge technology in addition to common disinfection techniques when eliminating COVID-19 from their ambulances.

When ambulances get back from a call, they shut a UVC light inside the closed cabin and turn it on. The ultraviolet rays emitted from the device seek out every nook and cranny of the inside of the vehicle, killing all bacteria, germs and viruses in the air and on the surfaces inside.
