Longmont PoliceScary news out of my hometown this afternoon, police in Longmont are searching for two little girls, at least one of which, may have been abducted near Burlington or Indian Peaks Elementary schools.

According to 9News and the Daily Times-Call:

Police say a girl, believed to be around 9 to 11 years old, told several teenagers Tuesday afternoon "Can you help me? That guy took my baby sis." She then pointed to a brown sedan or SUV with a possible roof rack heading northbound on South Pratt Parkway in Longmont.

Police have not been able to find the little girl that told the teens her sister was missing, nor have any parents reported any missing children.

The girl who alerted the teenagers was described as 4-feet 2-inches tall with brown hair, wearing a purple top with pink or green horizontally stripped Capri shorts.

If you were in the Longmont area and have any info that could help, please contact the Longmont Police at (303) 651-8519.

Let's just hope this turns out to be a big misunderstanding. As a new dad, stories like this chill me to the bone, and all I can do is hope that this turns out to be nothing.

I'll try and update this post if any more info is reported.
