Larimer County Saw Increase in Marijuana DUID Arrests in 2015
The number of marijuana-related DUID arrests rose in 2015 over 2014, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
LCSO made a total of 665 Driving Under the Influence (alcohol) and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs in 2014. In 2015, that number fell to 625.
However, while they saw a 6% decrease in total arrests, the number of marijuana-related DUID arrests increased by 48% from 2014 to 2015.
LCSO says DUID investigations and arrests tend to be more time consuming than DUI arrests, leaving less patrol time for deputies while completing the investigations - possibly causing the overall drop in arrests.
