The Kings Of Leon are making headlines that have nothing to do with their music. KOL’s Nathan Followill took on England’s Prince Harry in a ping pong match backstage at London’s O2 Arena.

Followill was supposedly urged to let the prince win, but according to the story from Gibson.com,  he wasn’t ready to hand a victory to the royal family.

“I'm not sure what the etiquette is when you play a prince at table tennis, but hey, I'm a king aren't I? A king trumps a prince. I think the other guys thought, ‘Maybe you should let a real prince win.’ But he is so tall and he's got military training, so I figured he can look after himself.”

So, some rock ’n’ roll boys from Tennessee got to throw down with Prince Harry and won. Of all the sports and bar games in the world, ping pong is about the last one I would have expected a prince to be a big fan of.  Prince Harry also earned the Kings Of Leon’s respect as a “pretty cool guy.”

“Man, we would jump at playing the royal wedding if we were asked. Wills and Kate look like nice people. But Harry is the dude. His is the wedding we would most likely play. He knows his music. He keeps it real on his iPod. I'm sure Wills and Kate know what they are doing, but Harry would definitely throw a Kings of Leon-style party.”

I’m just impressed they got away with calling the prince “Wills”.
