However, according to signs affixed to an otherwise rainbow-decorated door, the event was “Cancelled due to violent threats.” This sign was accompanied by others reading, “Now Under Investigation by Colorado AG,” “Help Fund the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Crisis,” and another that simply read, “Fundraiser for MMIR.”

The church, which has been sitting at 100 East 6th Street in Julesburg since 1960, is currently for sale. Listed for $375,000 by Shay Realty, the building and the 7,000 square-foot lot it sits on have been available since April 30, 2025.

However, according to the Greasy Grass Cooperative, a group closely related to the church and its involvement with the MMIR, the building was, at least at one time, said to have been set to be donated to the organisation after the church’s main pastor retires at the end of the year.

The Greasy Grass Cooperative was also the organization that facilitated ticket sales for the Queer Prom 2025 event.
