Time Lapse: 1,687 Pound Colorado Pumpkin Carved Into Awesome Art

A giant pumpkin named "Sweet Love" was turned into a great piece of art at Denver Botanical Gardens on Halloween, 2023.

Two Colorado carving artists who are skilled at turning pumpkins, watermelons, ice, and balloons into wonderful art, spent half a day working on "Sweet Love." Luckily, they worked on just the outside of the giant gourd.

While, perhaps, you and your co-workers were dressed up for the holiday, two artists spent their Halloween etching and carving into a huge pumpkin. What do you plan to do with your pumpkin?

Willy Tuz, out of Grand Junction, has been featured on Food Network for his carving abilities; Jess Parrish, based out of Alaska, has worked with Ice and pumpkins - Jess's wife works in the sand.  Together, Willy and Jess took on the 1,687-pound pumpkin to create art at Denver Botanical Gardens.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO CARVE THE GIANT PUMPKIN AT DENVER BOTANICAL GARDENS?

According to Denver Botanical Gardens, the team took four hours to create their work of art out of "Sweet Love." That's not counting the time it took to design the piece or map out their plan of attack.
