Loveland EMS Paramedics Deliver Baby in Ambulance

It's one of those "feel-good" stories that you find on one of those network TV shows like "911": a routine trip to the hospital turns into a not-so-ordinary live delivery within the ambulance. Ambulances aren't really that spacious on the inside, so it must have been a crazy and cramped situation.

According to 9News, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, three crew members of a Thompson Valley EMS unit out of Loveland were taking an expectant mother to a hospital in Fort Collins when things could not wait while they were in between the Windsor exit and Harmony Road exit.

Many parents have great stories about the day their kids were born, especially when it was their first newborn (not that this situation was a "first," necessarily). Stories about the mayhem of getting the car, getting to the hospital as quickly as they could without causing an accident, and the hours of waiting in the hospital room for the baby to arrive. This was not one of those stories.
