When it comes to Valentine's Day in Loveland, Colorado, you could indeed call it the town's 'Super Bowl.' It's the time of year where the whole world looks to "The Sweetheart City," for not only its annual Valentine Re-mailing Program, but all the activities centered around Valentine's Day.

2026 marks 80 years of the annual Valentine Re-mailing program. After eight decades, while sending letters and cards, in general, has waned, over 100,000 valentines every year come through Loveland to get the annual cancellation stamp before going to their intended destinations. Since 1946, volunteers have stamped million and millions of valentines; the 80th anniversary of it all will bring new things to help celebrate.

2026 Brings a Choice in Valentine Cards to Loveland, Colorado

For 2026, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the re-mailing program, has introduced two Valentine cards that people can purchase; up until 2026, there was only one card/verse. Maybe it came down to a tie; maybe it came down to giving people an option.

Those cards, costing $13, are available at the post offices in Loveland, 17 businesses around town, and online.

Valentine's Day 2026 Brings New 'Love Locks' to Loveland

Loveland's four Love Lock sculptures gain in popularity every year, where folks bring their own locks to show their love or purchase one from one of the city's two Visitor Centers. 2026 will see a brand new logo on those Love Locks.

What's Happening on Valentine's Day in Loveland, Colorado?

Valentine's Day 2026, Saturday, February 14, will start off with the annual "Sweetheart Classic" run with Sweetheart City Racing. This year will be different, as it will be a 5K instead of a 4-Miler.

The Sweetheart Festival will happen for one-day-only in 2026, on Valentine's Day 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. in Downtown. The event will have live music, food & drinks (including the annual specialty beer, wine and coffee) ice sculpting, fire displays, comedy, a haunted manor and more. The annual "Little Miss Valentine" and "Little Mr. Cupid" contests will also happen once again at The Rialto.

Folks might be pleased to know that 75% of the events for the Sweetheart Festival are happening indoors for 2026, after the struggles of the snowstorm of 2025.

New Event Added to Valentine's Day Celebration in Loveland

2026 will mark the first Valentine's Day that The Pulliam Community Building will be be a part of it, after it's massive restoration; the building will see two events for Valentine's Day:

• Group Wedding: For $160 per couple, people can get married or renew their vows in Loveland, Colorado.
• The Sweetheart Ball: After the Group Wedding, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. The Pulliam will host a retro, 1940s vintage-style, Sweetheart Ball, featuring a 15-piece big band, a jazz lounge, period re-enactors, and more. Tickets are $81.88 per.
