Colorado State Players and Coaches Part of Super Bowl Win
Once the New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game, many across the state of Colorado instantly couldn't care less what happened in the Super Bowl, thinking we didn't have a dog in that hunt.
And for a lot of people, that was very true.
However, for many long time fans of Colorado State University and some familiar Colorado sports names and families, there was a reason to be rooting for one of those teams: the Seattle Seahawks.
Sure, we were rooting for the Hawks because nobody wanted the Patriots to win another one, but there were other reasons as well, namely the fact that four former CSU Rams were part of the eventual Super Bowl LX Champion Seattle Seahawks organization.

Klint Kubiak, son of former Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak, and former Colorado State safety from 2005-2009, is the younger of the Kubiaks making his splash in the NFL coaching world. He served at Seattle's Offensive Coordinator this past season and actually yesterday was named the new Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Seems like Thanksgiving may be a little awkward at the Kubiak celebration this year as a result of that one.
Another former Broncos player and coach over the years was part of this winning team. Run Game Coordinator, Rick Dennison, played for the Rams in the 70s, before going undrafted and still finding a way to the NFL, with the Broncos in 1982. Since retiring as a player, he's become a longtime associate of the Kubiak and Shanahan families, serving as an assistant on one staff or another over the years that followed.

Outside of the Kubiaks and Shanahans is Seahawks' Offensive Line Coach John Benton, who played for Colorado State in the early 80s, and coached for the team on and off over the course of the 90s and 00s.
And last but not least? Recent CSU standout WR Tory Horton, who was drafted by Seattle before this past season, winning a Super Bowl ring as a rookie. He sadly didn't play in the Super Bowl, as he was hurt back in November. But still gets his ring!
