Colorado tourism may not be mentioning this particular spot when it comes to talking up the merits of visiting the state's gambling towns. The owner is counting on the establishment filing a niche that Central City/Black Hawk have both lacked.

$2.4 Million Renovations Turns Central City Building Into Strip Club/Restaurant

It was in July of 2024 that we told you that there might be a strip club coming to Central City; almost a year later, the strip club opened, on June 27, 2025. The owner spent  $2.4 million to own the building and then even more, getting the historic three-story ready for its new venture.

The new adult-entertainment establishment in Central City is almost directly across from the former Doc Holiday casino. Doc Holiday is now a non-gambling arcade bar, Monte Lobo Tacos y Tequila

Gambling in Central City, Black Hawk and Cripple Creek began in 1991; over 30 years later, a business in Central City "upped" the game. An adult entertainment company based out of Houston, that's traded on NASDAQ, are the ones behind "Rick's Cabaret & Steakhouse."

Many in Central City were opposed to a "strip club" similar to Diamond Cabaret in Denver opening in their town, but RCI Hospitality Holdings took their case to Federal court; it looks like RCI won that suit (or it was dismissed) because here we are.

The place Rick's Cabaret & Steakhouse (open 6:00 pm. - 4:00 a.m. Thursday-Saturday) is said to "blend historic elegance and modern luxury," with music, women entertainers fine wines and champagne, and a fine-dining restaurant, that will seat customers for a meal until 3:00 a.m.

It's hard to say, in late June of 2025, how the Central City/Black Hawk residents will eventually feel about Rick's Cabaret, or how many "casual" gamblers who travel up the hill will frequent the place.

I know that my "Black Hawk" money is usually limited to only gambling and tipping on beers. To spend another $150+ seems very unlikely; plus, I'm usually out of town before 6 p.m., anyway.
