Renowned Sports Doctor in Alabama Operating on Bo Nix
Once the collective cheers around the state of Colorado subsided this past weekend - after the Denver Broncos defeated the Buffalo Bills and advanced to their first AFC Championship in the past decade - news came out that took the air out of our balloons pretty quick.
Head Coach Sean Payton came back out in street clothes and stepped to the podium unexpectedly, for a second post game press conference. He started with: "not good news."

Quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle on the third to last play of the game and his season was done.
In that press conference Payton said that Nix was already scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, January 20 and actually name dropped the doctor who will be performing the surgery. This is significant because it's not just any doctor.
It's Dr. Norman Waldrop III, based in Birmingham, Alabama. Yep, just down the road from where the University of Alabama is located, and this isn't by coincidence.
Waldrop is the team physician for the university, and also a consultant for the NFL's New Orleans Saints - also not a coincidence. He has a long standing relationship with the Saints, where Sean Payton was obviously the head coach for more than a decade before he came to Denver.

He has also worked with a bunch of other NFL players, especially quarterbacks. Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Ryan Tannehill and others.
Bo Nix will be his next high profile client, and the hopes of the future of the Denver Broncos are in his capable hands.
