Colorado is as landlocked as it gets, but that doesn't mean there's any shortage of water. Our state's water sources are in the form of lakes (including some of the bluest in the nation), rivers, streams, creeks, and reservoirs.

Coloradans love to take full advantage by getting out and enjoying these bodies of water in every way possible. Whether it's fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, tubing, or some other sport, there are endless opportunities to soak up the benefits of all the water in the Centennial State.

And even when Coloradans aren't out recreating on the water, they still find ways to enjoy it - such as grabbing a refreshing drink while sitting at a waterfront pub.

The Pub at Pelican Bay is the perfect place to do just that.

Many Coloradans don't know about this amazing beachside bar that sits on the sandy shore of the scenic Cherry Creek Reservoir, but it's a relaxing spot that locals love. The Pub at Pelican Bay offers a charming nautical-themed retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. The walls inside the pub are covered with sea-related art, and to further fit the theme, the bar itself is shaped like a boat.

The Pub at Pelican Bay has indoor and outdoor seating, with views of the marina and reservoir. Savor the fresh air and sunshine on the open-air patio, which is also ideal for soaking in the lakeside ambiance. The covered patio is convenient when Colorado's weather isn't cooperating. Comfy couches add to the pub's casual, laid-back vibe.

While sipping on an ice-cold drink, it's fun to watch the boaters and paddlers coming in from a day on the water.

On Wednesday evenings throughout the summer, the beach in front of the pub doubles as a dance floor when a variety of musicians take the stage for the "Live at the Lake" concert series.

Complimentary popcorn is available for bar-goers except on concert nights. Rather, a temporary concession stand with hamburgers and hot dogs is set up during those evenings.

The Pub at Pelican Bay is located inside Cherry Creek State Park, at 4800 S. Dayton Street in Greenwood Village. A State Parks Pass or daily fee must be paid to enter the park and visit the pub.
