The Disney Worlds Collide Concert Tour is Coming to Colorado
Guess where I’m going to be on October 16th of this year. You’ll never guess. I, along with a ton of other lucky parents, will be at Ball Arena in Denver for the “Disney Worlds Collide Concert Tour.”
Have a kid between the ages of 3–14? I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of these Disney shows: Camp Rock, The Descendants, or Zombies. The Disney Worlds Collide show celebrates the music from all three popular franchises. Here's a refresher course in the three movies before the concert.
What is the Camp Rock movie about?
Camp Rock follows every day American girl, Mitchie Torres, played by Demi Lovato, a music-loving teen who dreams of attending an elite summer music camp but can’t afford it. I guess her dream is ruined forever. Wrong! Luckily she gets the chance to go when her mom lands a job at the camp, but Mitchie pretends to be someone she’s not to fit in with the popular crowd. Way to suck, Mitchie.
At camp, a famous pop star shows up, and things get wacky. Meanwhile, Mitchie deals with mean-girl drama (because isn’t there always mean-girl drama?). In the end, little Mitchie learns to be herself (you go, girl), and during the final camp performance, it leads to a big musical moment that I’m sure we’ll all get to hear in October. I can’t wait.
What is The Descendants movie about?
Descendants is set in a world where the children of Disney heroes and villains live very different lives. The “good” kids grow up in the perfect kingdom of Auradon, while the “bad” kids (harsh), the children of famous villains, are stuck on the Isle of the Lost (again, seems unnecessarily harsh). This whole situation seems a bit unfair, but I digress. The kids of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost jam their faces off, and you’re gonna want to see the battle between good and evil in song form in October. Can you even handle the excitement?!
What is the Zombies movie about?
Buckle up because I have seen this movie at least 4,000 times thanks to my 8 year old daughter, Murphy. She's zombie obsessed.
Zombies takes place in the town of Seabrook, where everything is perfectly “normal” until zombies are allowed to attend the local high school for the first time. Say what?! How wild.
The story follows Zed (I swear this actor is in his 30's at least) ,a zombie who just wants to fit in and play football, and Addison, a cheerleader who dreams of being accepted despite feeling different herself. When their worlds collide, they form an unlikely friendship, as is the case in most Disney movie plots.
There will be singing, dancing and kids screaming the songs to some Disney classics. October can't come fast enough. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. MT.
