A popular steakhouse is about to have a big stake in dining in one Northern Colorado town. As many of you know, Johnstown has been booming in recent years. The additions of Scheels, Buc-ee's, Wood's Supermarket, and more have made the once small town explode with growth in the past decade.

Johnstown’s Rapid Growth

When it comes to Johnstown's growth, many of my neighbors have differing opinions. Many of them love the idea of Johnstown becoming a town with a wide range of dining and retail options, while others remain firm in their opposition to the influx of population and the town's growth.

I can't help but feel a little bit of both sides to this argument. I like the convenience, but I have also grown to dislike the traffic congestion. However, growing pains are all part of a town's growth.

More Development at I-25 and Highway 34

In late 2025, we told you about the possibility of both Costco and Texas Roadhouse coming to the intersection of Interstate 25 and Highway 34. It was confirmed in late February that Costco will be coming to Loveland, off Highway 34 and Centerra Parkway.  Now, the Greeley Tribune has confirmation that the popular steakhouse chain, Texas Roadhouse, has purchased property in Johnstown, in the 2534 Development at the southeast corner of Interstate 25 and Highway 34.

The lot where the future Texas Roadhouse will open sold for 1.925 million on February 27, 2026. The Johnstown location be the third location in Northern Colorado, joining Fort Collins and Greeley.
