For the first time in nearly 20 years, an iconic soapbox race is returning to Colorado. If you have some do-it-yourself skills, a need for speed, and the desire for glory, you might want to get signed up for the Red Bull Soapbox Race that is coming to Denver this summer.

The Red Bull Soapbox Race will take place at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Saturday, June 13, and will feature 40 to 45 teams competing for soapbox glory, and maybe a can or two of Red Bull.

The Red Bull Soapbox Race course will have obstacles, jumps, and turns. While some of these teams may have amazing soapbox cars, not every racer will make it to the finish line with all of the obstacles on the track, and that is just part of the fun.

How to Enter the Red Bull Soapbox Race

There are still open spots for teams to compete in the Red Bull Soapbox Race in Denver. However, if you want to participate, you'd better hurry, because application submissions close on April 12, 2026.

For teams to qualify for the soapbox race, applicants will need to submit a sketch of the homemade soapbox car, which is nonmotorized, has fully functioning brakes and steering, and cannot weigh more than 176 pounds, excluding the driver.
