Colorado's famous cat café is the purr-fect place to spend a fun day alongside furry felines and purr-haps even take one home with you.

Denver Cat Company is one of the oldest cat cafés in the nation and is entirely female-owned and operated. The laid-back lounge offers customers unlimited cat cuddles, refreshments including coffee and apple cider, and light snacks.

Visitors can expect to meet between 15-20 rescue cats inside the building at any given time. These sweet felines range in age from young kittens to seniors and are sourced from the Denver Cat Rescue. The cats roam free day and night. Their litterboxes are neatly tucked away behind a wall in the back of the business.

The café is a comfortable and relaxed space with multiple seating options and tables. Mellow music plays in the background. There is a small library of books and games to borrow, plus toys for the cats to play and interact with. Cat-themed items are available for purchase in the gift shop.

This enriching environment was designed to maximize the experience of the cats living there and the customers who come to love on them. The wall-mounted vertical space and ceiling height tracks allow the cats to enjoy their alone time. There are many cubbies for the animals to nap in, and a sunny windowsill that they absolutely adore.

Since its inception, the cat-focused non-profit has helped over 3,000 felines find forever homes. The cat café allows customers to truly get to know the animal's personality before adoption, which means the placements are usually successful long term.

Reservations are not required but are highly recommended on weekends and during school breaks. Single adult tickets are $15. Four different membership options are also available, which are a cost-effective way to enjoy unlimited free visits with the cats. Café hours are 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 10 am to 8 pm from Friday through Sunday.

Visit the Denver Cat Company at 3929 Tennyson Street in the historic Berkeley neighborhood.
