No matter where you live or how old you are, at some point in your life you are going to need healthcare. This looks different for everyone. It could be from a deadly disease you have; it could be from being sick, from breaking a bone, or perhaps one of your kids or someone in your family needs it. Where you live dictates how good the healthcare is that you will be provided.

Having good healthcare can at times be the difference between living a healthy life, being ill, fighting for your life, or, in severe circumstances can be the difference between life and death. WalletHub recently released a study of the best and worst states for healthcare, and to rank the states it used categories such as cost, access, and outcomes to do so. Using these criteria, it was determined that New Hampshire is the state with the best healthcare in the country, followed by Minnesota, and Iowa rounding out the top three. The state with the worst healthcare in the country is Alaska, with Mississippi being the second worst, and Georgia rounding out the bottom three. When it comes to Colorado, where does the Centennial State rank, and how good or bad is the healthcare?

Colorado's healthcare is among some of the best in the country. The Centennial State is ranked ninth in the country for healthcare and is 36th in cost, but is 5th in access and 7th in outcomes. While healthcare in the state might be expensive, the outcomes appear to be more positive than negative, and the end result is what matters the most. Healthcare isn't just about physicians. Colorado is home to the 4th most dentists per capita in the country. One other good thing about living in Colorado is that the state has the 3rd lowest cancer rate in the entire country, only behind Massachusetts and New Mexico. Colorado does have the 3rd highest percentage of adults with no routine doctor visits in the last two years. Is that because they are in good health, the cost, or because they don't want to go?
