Flags Half-Staff in Colorado Explained
On December 29, former President of the United States Jimmy Carter passed away in his home state of Georgia. President Carter was 100 years old when he died.
The 39th President of the United States served for one term from 1977 to 1981.

Former President Carter, who was the longest-living President, entered hospice care in February 2023.
How Long Flags Will be Half-Staff in Colorado
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs notes that when a President dies, American flags will remain half-staff for 30 days. When a Vice President dies, American flags are traditionally at half-staff for 10 days after their death.
Flags will remain half-staff in Colorado, and the rest of the nation, until January 28.
President Jimmy Carter's Funeral Announced
President Jimmy Carter will be buried alongside his wife Rosalyn Carter at Washington National Cathedral. The funeral will take place on January 9. Every living former President is expected to attend.
There is no word on whether or not President-elect Donald Trump will attend.
