What's new with the Drones as First Responders program is that these drones will be able to fly beyond line of sight.

What Will First Responder Drones Be Used For in Commerce City?

Calls for service within the city limits of Commerce City by citizens reporting an event in progress where a drone may be able to aid in assisting police officers, or an alert from the Commerce City FLOCK public safety system.

The Commerce City Police Department says that the Drones as First Responders program will only be used as a response for calls to service and to help protect law enforcement in the field. These drones will not be used to search out violations or generate new investigations.

The Commerce City Police Department will be strategically placing Drones as First Responders throughout Commerce City, Colorado, on top of buildings. The drones will be able to be launched, flown, and docked remotely by pilots who work in the real-time crime center in the Commerce City Police Department.
