The Lakewood Police Department launched a similar campaign in September 2024.

Tracking devices are becoming more common inside of vehicles. Don't place the tracker in an extremely obvious place.

Denver to Once Again Give Out Anti-Theft Trackers

The Denver Police Department was the first law enforcement agency to give tracking devices to residents. Two years ago, they launched their first campaign, "DenverTrack."

The Denver Police Department has collaborated with Colorado Auto Theft Prevention to give more Bluetooth-enabled trackers to Denver residents, according to a press release.

Gizmodo reports that the Denver Police Department will give 450 Apple AirTags and Samsung SmartTags to Denver residents completely free of charge.

They will hand out the Apple AirTags from March 19 through the 21st.

Fox 31 reports that the Denver Police Department would be able to track your vehicle if it is stolen, and the car owner would share all GPS information with the Denver Police Department
