One Colorado mule deer is living the free life once again after officials with Colorado Parks and Wildlife were able to remove a bucket lid that had been stuck around the animal's neck for weeks.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife posted that reports of a deer being spotted with the bucket lid had been coming in since August 12. After weeks of attempts to find the deer, officials were able to free the deer from its unfashionable necklace.

Citizens in the Pagosa Springs and Aspen Springs areas of Colorado kept a close lookout for the mule deer and made reports to Colorado Parks and Wildlife about the sightings. These reports of the whereabouts of the deer made it possible for an officer to locate the deer and get the bucket lid off of her neck.

The mule deer is a mother to two fawns that were close by when a Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer was able to track her down and rescue her from her entanglement with the bucket lid. After the mule deer was rescued, she was reunited with her two fawns and left the area with them.
