Last night was one of those nights. Diligently prepping for the first blizzard of the winter season. Its been quite a while since I have been in a blizzard or even a full blown snow storm for that matter. As the storm was blowing in last night my wife and I were heading back to where we are currently staying, which is Littleton. Yeah, I know, it's quite a daily commute! We braved the wind down I-25 and as soon as we made it home, like a light switch, the snow started. We both had to be back up here at around 10 a.m. the next day, so we made the decision to err on the side of caution and give ourselves time to get back up here. How much time is enough time? We thought 3 hours would be sufficient, so we cleaned off the car (I don't miss doing that by the way) and headed out. To my surprise, there was basically no one on I-25 and the drive was super easy. From point A to point B it took us an hour and fifteen minutes. We had some time to kill... "Lets take some back roads and explore" I said! We hopped off the interstate and took 34 east to county highway 13. In one of the fields it appears the wind also likes to make snowballs!

There were easily hundreds if not thousands of perfectly delicate snowballs from tiny little pea sized up to the size of a basketball created from the wind we received last night and this morning from the blizzard. I have never seen anything like it. Of course, I had to fight the urge to throw one at my wife... I couldn't fight it too much, so I chucked one at her and missed. I need to work on my aim!
