Helicopter Crashes in Southern Weld County – Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries

A helicopter training student crashed Monday in southern Weld County.

The female pilot was a student of Mountain One Helicopters in Erie. She was on a solo flight that began in Erie.  She flew to Greeley, then planned to fly to Platte Valley Medical Center, but encountered engine problems near Hudson.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the 24-year-old Boulder woman, landed the helicopter on its skids near the intersection of Weld County roads 41 and 18. The pilot was treated on scene for a minor wrist injury.
