The Town of Windsor invites everyone to a number of Halloween activities and events happening during the month of October. This month is packed with family-friendly events including pumpkin carving, swimming for pumpkins, a haunted village and trick-or-treating.

Saturday, October 20

  • Pumpkin Carving Workshop, 1-2:30 p.m. -Join professional jack-o’-lantern artist John Bardeen of Grampa Bardeen’s Family Pumpkin Carving Kits to learn the secrets of creating amazing pumpkin masterpieces. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult who can help with the more complicated carving steps. The workshop will be held at Boardwalk Park, 100 N. 5th St. Participants must bring their own pumpkin. Cost: $20. Register by Oct. 19 online at windsorgov.com/recreg or call 970-674-3500.

Friday, October 26

  • Pumpkin Plunge, 6-8 p.m. - Swim through the water to find the perfect pumpkin to decorate at the Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th St. While decorating, enjoy music and a move in the spirit of fall. Space is limited so be sure to sign up early. Recommended for ages 2-12. Cost: $6. Register by Oct. 19 online at windsorgov.com/recreg or call 970-674-3500.

Saturday, October 27

  • Haunted Village Trick-or-Treat, 1- 4 p.m. -Be sure to stop by Boardwalk Park Museum, 100 N. 5th St., during your downtown trick-or-treating. All of our historic buildings will be transformed into a spooky haunted village with free candy for all. For an additional $3 per child (cash only), participants can do a special Halloween craft, complete a scary scavenger hunt, and get a special prize. All activities are kid-friendly.

Wednesday, October 31

  • Community Halloween Party, 6-8 p.m. -The Optimist Club and Windsor Police Department are hosting a free community Halloween Party at the Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th St. Enjoy games and treats in a non-spooky, friendly and safe environment. The event is open to kids ages 12 and under.
