As the Denver Channel reported, Greeley Police officers killed a military veteran who was heavily armed, and threatened "a shootout" overnight.
The incident happened just before 3 a.m. Wednesday when a caller reported that their relative was outside a home off of Fourth Street with two or three guns. The gunman appeared to be intoxicated and a military veteran suffering from PTSD.
When officers arrived, the man was ordered to raise his hands. Instead, he pointed a long gun at the officers, police then opened fire on the man.
As an officer involved shooting, the incident will be investigated by the Weld County District Attorney's Office.
