Greeley Officer Cleared in February Shooting Incident
On February 26, 2020, a Greeley police officer fired on Ramiro Carrasco at the Island Grove Village Apartments in Greeley. After the incident, the officer was put under investigation by the Weld District Attorney Michael Rourke.
According to a press release, DA Rourke determined that the officer was justified after Carrasco "reached for a gun that was visible in his lap while the officer was giving him commands to not touch the gun."
The officer was responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle at the Island Grove Village Apartment complex. As of May 5, the officer has been cleared of all charges.
