Saturday, Aug. 29

11:15 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1300 block of 32nd Avenue for a possible theft. The caller was seeking legal advice because a third party had “hijacked” some possessions and refused to return them until he was paid for moving them. The caller told dispatchers he was carrying a weapon as he is a concealed carry permit holder.

7:15 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1000 block of 13th Street to talk to a man about an eviction notice he received. Once on scene, the man handed the notice to police. Police told the man it was not a legitimate eviction notice because it was handwritten and his landlord was not seeking to evict him.

9:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to 32nd Street to meet with a mother who found drug residue and paraphernalia in her young daughter’s luggage. The mother told police she had just gained custody of her daughter from her ex-husband who “does meth and such.” The mother wanted to give the paraphernalia and her daughter’s bags to police for evidence.

Monday, Aug. 31

1:45 a.m.: Greeley police responded to a possible theft of a pickup in the 6100 block of 15th Street. The owner told dispatchers he saw two people acting suspiciously near his truck. While at the home, the Blazer returned to the area and dropped the two people off at the house. They were the man’s daughters who were trying to sneak out of the house.

6:45 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 2200 block of 16th Street for a report of a live bat in the kitchen. The caller asked for police to respond before the children woke up for breakfast. The bat was eventually caught and released about 8 a.m.
