Colorado Governor Jared Polis has had quite the busy year with all of the craziness of Covid and all of the other governing stuff that governors have to do, he has decided to pop the question to his longtime partner, Marlon Reis.

According to the Colorado Sun, Polis, who is the first openly gay elected Governor, popped the question at a time when they were both battling COVID and on a day where Marlon was feeling especially less than stellar.

After battling the virus  for more than a week and his conditions getting worse, his doctor ordered him to go to a hospital.

There were tears, fear, and chaos as he was preparing his stuff for a hospital stay and that's when it happened...Polis was telling him to hurry up (which actually made things worse, for the moment)  until the Governor dropped down on one knee and popped the big question and asked his partner that he's been with for 17 years to marry him.

Reis was already having a hard time breathing so this only made things worse...temporarily. Of course he said yes. The couple actually got engaged on December 6 but kept things mostly private which I imagine isn't very easy to do when you're Governor of Colorado but they did and now they're set to be married.

We would like to say congratulations and wish them both the best of luck and many years of happiness.
