Gas prices are at the highest they've ever been and there's no relief in sight...unless we here in Colorado can get as lucky as the folks in North Carolina thanks to a very generous and compassionate gas station owner who took a big loss to make this happen.

This generous gift provided to drivers by this gas station was a huge hit as the station dropped the gas price to $2.25 a gallon. Sure, the station took a big hit by dropping the prices and I can't speak for others, I can tell you this, even when the price goes back up, I'd be going back to this station to support them.

The owner of the gas station did it to simply "give people a break" and help drivers who have experience this crazy rise in gas prices recently.

One pleasantly surprised customer had this to say about it “I think that's really great and kind of them to do that for people around here like us. I think it's really good of them,".

Talk about a random act of kindness. Hopefully this can trickle down to other places like here in Colorado to do the same and throw us commuters a little bone and help us out a bit.

Currently, the average price for regular unleaded gasoline in Colorado is $3.97 per gallon. For a basic 14 gallon tank like I have in my vehicle, the average cost for a fill up is right around $57.

Dropping the price to $2.25 per gallon would make that same fill up to about $31.50. Big difference.

There's nothing for $2.25 per gallon here in Colorado currently but here is a list of the cheapest gas prices in our great state.
