The City of Fort Collins is willing to take some of your old junk on Saturday (Sept. 7).

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can bring select household hazardous waste items like old paints and batteries to City of Fort Collins Streets Facility at 625 Ninth St.

They will take it all for FREE.

Some household hazardous wastes can cause harm to the environment if not disposed of correctly.

ITEMS ACCEPTED: Household batteries, paints; pesticides; fluorescent lights; cleaning and automotive products; vitamins and supplements; personal care products, including hair products, lotions, nail polish/remover; mercury-containing items, such as thermostats, thermometers and button-shaped batteries; under-the sink cleaners, bleaches.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Tires; e-waste; asbestos; explosives; pharmaceuticals; bio-waste (needles, bandages); commercial and industrial waste.
