Fort Collins Police Services Warn That It’s Scam Season
Tis the season to be...scammed?
If you're like me, nearly half the phone calls you get these days are telemarketers telling you you won the lottery or that your Nigerian cousin needs $5 million wired to them immediately. It really does put a damper on the holidays...
Fort Collins Police Services is warning NoCo: it's not gonna stop anytime soon.
FCPS retweeted a note from Fort Collins Utilities, reminding customers that while they may be contacted over the phone, they will never threaten to disconnect utilities or ask for payment via that method, so don't believe scammers who may do so. See the tweet right here:
FCPS and Fort Collins Utilities want you and your family to remain safe over the holidays, so be aware of scams and don't ever give out personal financial information to numbers you don't trust over the phone.
