It's not always cats stuck in trees... or cats stuck in cans. Sometimes it's ducks in drains, and Fort Collins Police Services and Poudre Fire Authority came to the rescue.

According to a Facebook post from Fort Collins Police Services, first responders were able to retrieve at least seven ducklings from a sewer drain Monday morning, stating that fowl play is not suspected.

When they weren't responding to faulty smoke alarms in my apartment building this weekend (hey), Poudre Fire Authority had a busy few days of water rescues, retrieving eight stranded people from the Poudre River.

Last June, Poudre Fire Authority also did a swiftwater rescue — for a dog.
