Police say early Sunday morning a man broke into a vehicle parked in a church parking lot early Sunday morning stealing credit cards and roughly $6,000 worth of hearing aids.

The woman who owned the stolen goods reported the incident to police and cancelled her credit cards but after the thief was able to purchase gift cards, cigarettes and even a meal from McDonald's.

Police spotted Anthony Enfield, who was a main suspect in the robbery, Sunday evening around 6 pm in Old Town Fort Collins

“The suspect fled on a bicycle and continued to flee from several officers until one of the officers was able to stick out his hands, making contact with the suspect’s shoulder, throwing off his balance, causing him to fall near the downtown library,” said Rita Davis, Fort Collins police spokeswoman.

One witness claimed he saw Enfield bang his head on a parked van after being thrown off his bike leaving behind a pool of blood.

“It was a pretty rough shove,” the witness said. “I thought it was a rather aggressive shove. It just seems like if you’re close enough to shove a guy, you’re close enough to just grab him.”

Enfield was treated for his injuries prior to being arrested and sent to jail where he now waits for his court date.
